We understand the importance of protecting the environment and we’re committed to operating in ways, which minimize environmental impact. Our target is zero environmental incidents.

Comprehensive environmental assessments and reviews are carried out prior to all our new projects. We follow a systematic approach to environmental management, even in geographies where such high standards are not required by law.

Around 90% of our employees operate under an independently verified ISO 14001 international standard. In line with our Group Spill Response Standard, we are continuing our oil spill response audit program and expanding environmental management audits at key sites. These audits are in addition to our regular internal inspections and ISO 14001 audits.

Each November we run ‘Environment Month’, our month-long program of internal and community based events promoting sustainability and care for the natural environment.
Our 2012 Environment Month program engaged more hundreds of employees and their families across all our locations. The ‘Think energy. Increase efficiency’ campaign educated and encouraged everyone to change their behavior, at home and at work, to reduce energy use.
